About this website
I want to share with you what I’ve learnt over the past 10 years of developing enterprise software. I will explore everything from how an idea is formed, how it becomes an IT solution and what happens after it is released into production. My focus won’t be on the technical side, but rather the people aspect of software development and maintenance. How a change in technology affects an organisation, its people and its customers. I’ll investigate the relationship between affecting technological change, the stakeholders involved and processes required to make it all happen.
About me
I’m Cian – A people person, action oriented and able to turn vision into reality.
I’ve been working as an IT Consultant for over 10 years. I have performed many roles such as Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Programmer, Tester, Release Coordinator, SCRUM Master and dabbled in many more. I have worked in Berlin, London, Athens, Hong Kong and Adelaide, Australia. My exposure covers many industries including financial services, consumer goods, social services and many more.
I am an accomplished and fluent communicator with strong investigation, problem-solving and decision making skills, combined with a pragmatic approach and sound business acumen.
In my free time, you’ll find me playing sports, the drums and learning new languages. My ‘can do’ attitude always has me chasing new projects and networking with brilliant and creative people. If you’re one of these people, please get in touch!
What do I do?
As an IT Consultant I help create positive change in your organisation, using technology.
I work with you to articulate your goals, through understanding your strategy. Document, discuss and agree with your stakeholders, the requirements needed to move from the current state to the future state.
In an IT landscape this then means we need to traverse through a system development lifecycle (SDLC). In other words, after we know what we want to do and what is required. I will help you develop the solution, test it and release it to your customers.
Once a project is completed, the product needs support and maintenance. I help you integrate your product into your service delivery model or help you to understand how you can provide support to your customers.
